Healthy Body = Functional Body. Hollywood Look Side Effect: Healthy Function

My Grandparents chose to love each other when they met as teenagers, and then, they chose to love each other every part of every day, through the Great Depression, through absence during war, child rearing, work, illnesses... Life. Finding TRUE love? They met... And That was it. Again, the true love part was a daily choice whether either was as attractive or as exciting as the day they met. True love depends on each person, not just the one you find or the one that finds you. In other words, Love is a Choice, because we are not 110% lovable 24 hours a day. True love is when each person sees that real life is not like a romance movie script True love is accepting the fact of real life, which brings creative challenges that, with the choice to love, can increase attraction. Popular novels, songs, shows, movies... Each have scripts that are no doubt, inspired. The talented people that write and act, the hundreds or thousands of people that are the list of credits at the end of a movie - from the accountants to the doctors to the musicians and screenwriters - They work on projects that, as finished masterpieces, may often have coincidental similarities to your definition of romance and the most often undefined and over-used phrase... "true love" Again, the credits behind movies, books, shows and songs... include a lot of people. Why, because such productions are intentionally crafted to touch our deepest self. So, they are edited for perfection, music and effects and colors ...

J. Edgar Hoover Exposed

What's Done in the Dark: The Millie L. McGhee Story Millie McGhee was born in McComb, Mississippi in 1947, to African-American parents of humble circumstance. Millie was a happy, playful child, full of life, vigor, and energy -- that is until she was forced to keep a secret, a family secret, and the secret was so frightening to her that it changed her childhood forever. This secret could have tumbled the regime of one of the most powerful men in American history: J. Edgar Hoover. But while this family secret and the lies, murders, and fear that accompanied it traumatized young Millie, it also empowered her as an adult to one day come to terms with her family history. After 10 years of genealogical research and many more years of counseling, Millie finally learned to forgive Mr. Hoover, her ancestor, for his notorious and racist policies as head of the FBI. Millie's is a story of forgiveness and of hope. It sheds new light on the fact that keeping secrets does more harm than good, and reminds us that we are each a vital part of the same human family. As Millie's father used to tell her: "What's done in the dark shall come to the light..."

Elvis Presley - Devil In Disguise.wmv

links to the story behind the death of Elvis: www.findadeath.com and www.theholidayspot.com Elvis Aaron Presley was born on Tuesday, January 8, 1935 in East Tupelo, Mississippi. In September 1948 when Elvis was 13, he and his parents moved to Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from Humes High School in Memphis, Elvis took odd jobs working as a movie theater usher and a truck driver for Crown Electric Company. He began singing locally as "The Hillbilly Cat", then signed with a local recording company, then in 1955 with RCA. He did much to establish early rock and roll music, bringing black blues singing into the white, teenage mainstream. Teenage girls became hysterical over his blatantly sexual gyrations, particularly the one that got him nicknamed "Elvis the Pelvis" (TV cameras were not permitted to film below his waist). At the time of his death, he had sold more than 600-million singles and albums. In 1956 following his 6 TV appearances on The Dorsey Brothers'" Stage Show" , Elvis was cast in his first acting role in a supporting part in Rakasta minua hellästi (1956), the first of 33 movies he starred in. Critics blasted most of his films, but they did very well at the box-office earning upwards of $150 million total. In 1958, Elvis was drafted into the military where he relocated to Bad Nauheim, Germany. There he met and quickly fell in love with 14-year old army damsel, Priscilla Ann Wagner (later known as Priscilla Presley). Elvis's military service and the ...

A Sam Clemens Remix Video: "Pretend To Read It As A Book"

This is one of five YouTube posted video shorts from "A Sam Clemens Remix". "A Sam Clemens Remix" concert opened the 2007 National Media Education Conference (NMEC) on June 23, 2007. NMEC was sponsored by the Alliance for a Media Literate America www.amlainfo.org . The venue was St. Louis Missouri. The concert was produced by Paul Guzzardo. "A Sam Clemens Remix" was a live -- largely improvisational -- thirty minute multimedia remix concert. The artists previously worked together on "The Secretbaker Cycle" of multimedia productions www.secretbaker.com In Secretbaker we used digital tools and toys to navigate through information environments; thousands of pages of FBI files. In "A Sam Clemens Remix" we grabbed on to three of Samuel Clemens' texts; "Life on the Mississippi", "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "A Tramp Abroad". In the concert we explored how the texts and associated archival imagery might be used to fashion new narrative and myth building platforms. Hemingway said Huckleberry Finn gave birth to the American novel. We're not novelists and don't intend to write novels, but we think Sam Clemens gave us the gear we need to plot a course just like he did Huckleberry Finn and his raft-mate Jim. History of the Mormons in Nauvoo - LDS - 3/3

www.youtube.com is a video describing how to learn more about the Mormon Church. After being expelled from Missouri by the Extermination Order, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon Church) found refuge in the city of Quincy, Illinois, in January of 1839. The kind people there helped the Mormons until they could find another location in which to establish themselves. Brigham Young and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles led the Church while Joseph remained in prison on false charges of treason. Finally, on April 16, a friendly guard, realizing that Joseph and the others were being confined illegally, allowed them to escape. On April 25, Joseph and the other leaders selected a town named Commerce in Hancock County, Illinois, to be their new city. It was a beautiful, though swampy location overlooking a large bend in the Mississippi river. They bought the land and began settling there. The Twelve Apostles soon left again to preach the Gospel. Joseph Smith remained behind to help build up the new city. Joseph changed the name to Nauvoo, which comes from the Hebrew word meaning beautiful . Joseph and the other leaders determined that they would not let themselves be driven and harassed by illegal mobs again. They petitioned for and obtained a charter for their own city, which gave them the legal right to defend themselves against attacks both from the law and from mobs. It also stated that no resident of Nauvoo could be arrested without a writ ...

Mark Twain Speaks from beyond the velvet curtain

Mark Twain, former river boat pilot on the Mississippi offers his wry advice. "If we become pilots on the river of our own lives, then we gain a sense of control over the events that we encounter. It may be a delusional sense, but it is a very real delusion, and it is one that I can highly recommend." © Kevin Budd 2009

Muddy Waters - Baby Please Don't Go - ChicagoFest 1981

gravityworld.tv In August of 1981, when the undisputed king of Chicago blues headlined ChicagoFest — then the Windy City's top outdoor music festival — for two nights, his loyal subjects mobbed Navy Pier on the lakefront to hear one of the greatest innovators the idiom had ever produced. Muddy Waters led the charge in the late 1940s and early '50s to electrify Delta blues in an urban setting. His peerless combo would include such future stars as ace guitarist Jimmy Rogers, harmonica virtuoso Little Walter and piano wizard Otis Spann. But Muddy was always at the center of the action. His gruff, authoritative vocal delivery and slashing slide guitar define the purest form of postwar Chicago blues. Waters' charisma was as immense as his musical vision. Born April 4, 1915, in Issaquena County, Mississippi, McKinley Morganfield learned the blues while sharecropping on Stovall Plantation. One guitarist particularly influenced him. "I never seen a man could play at that time as good as Son House, to me. With that big voice he had, he could sing," said Muddy. "He was preachin' the blues then, and I thought he was the best in the world." In late August of 1941 musicologists Alan Lomax and John Work rolled into Coahoma County in search of rural gospel and blues talent. They made field recordings of Muddy, with Lomax returning the next year to cut more. But those were for the Library of Congress. It was only after Muddy migrated north in 1943 that he pursued a career as a ...

Mark Twain's Mississippi, 1800-1900: Politics, 1800-1850

This video concerning the topic of Politics, 1800-1850, comes from the Mark Twain's Mississippi website (dig.lib.niu.edu which is a creation of Northern Illinois University Libraries' Digital Initiatives Unit: www.ulib.niu.edu The Mark Twain's Mississippi site provides a fully searchable and indexed digital library of some of Samuel Clemens' publications under the name of Mark Twain, placing special emphasis upon Twain's Mississippi novels and reminiscences (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Life on the Mississippi). These works serve as lenses through which the public may explore additional text, image and sound materials, drawn from the participating libraries, describing the Mississippi Valley that Mark Twain remembered and imagined in writing his classic works of literature. Combined with Twain's works and original interpretive essays written by consulting scholars, these materials illuminate important aspects and themes in the society and culture of the Mississippi valley in the period 1830-1890. These themes include Twain's on-going discussion of the course of Americans' western settlement and their conflicts with Native Americans; the emergence of a new American economic order, replacing Twain's world of villages and steamboats with railroads and factories, the emergence of genteel culture and westerners' reactions to and interpretations of it; and the saga of America's sectional crisis, Civil War, and Reconstruction. Please see the ...

Roots of Blues -- Robert Johnson „Little Queen Of Spades"

Recorded: Dallas, June 20, 1937 Robert Johnson (g) (vcl) Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 -- August 16, 1938) is among the most famous of Delta blues musicians. His landmark recordings from 1936--1937 display a remarkable combination of singing, guitar skills, and songwriting talent that have influenced generations of musicians. Johnson's shadowy, poorly documented life and death at age 27 have given rise to much legend. Considered by some to be the "Grandfather of Rock 'n' Roll", his vocal phrasing, original songs, and guitar style have influenced a broad range of musicians, including Muddy Waters, John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, Cream, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Paul Butterfield, The Band, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Robert Palmer, Jack White and Eric Clapton, who called Johnson "the most important blues musician who ever lived". He was also ranked fifth in Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He is an inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Robert Johnson was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi probably on May 8, 1911, to Julia Major Dodds and Noah Johnson. Julia was married to Charles Dodds, a relatively prosperous landowner and furniture maker to whom she had borne 10 children. Dodds had been forced by a lynch mob to leave Hazlehurst following a dispute with white landowners. Julia herself left Hazlehurst with baby Robert, but after some two years sent ...

Sea Shepherd at Deepwater Ground Zero. ***Exclusive footage***

Sea Shepherd CEO, Steve Roest, flies at an undisclosed altitude to examine the situation in the Gulf. Watch as he narrates his account. Please help us get this evidence out there. Favorite and share this video. www.seashepherd.org Wednesday, June 30, 2010 Operation Gulf Rescue Ramps Up Operation Gulf Rescue The problem: On the morning of April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana, the British Petroleum (BP) Deepwater Horizon semi-submersible mobile offshore drilling unit exploded, killing 11 people. On the afternoon of April 22th, a large oil slick began to spread from the former rig site, and today this disaster is the largest offshore spill in US history. Estimates vary as to how much oil is gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, but experts agree that it is between 50000 and 150000 barrels of oil per day. On May 19th, scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and elsewhere stated that oil had reached the Loop Current. By June 4th, the oil spill had landed on 125 miles of Louisiana's coast, washed up along Mississippi and Alabama barrier islands, and was found for the first time on a Florida barrier island at Pensacola Beach. The greatest concern has been that severe weather, as we enter hurricane season, might push the oil inland and over a far wider area, simultaneously rendering many clean-up and wildlife rescue operations useless or redundant. On June 30th, Sea Shepherd Gulf Operations Liaison Dr. Bonny Schumaker and Sea ...

Las grandes culturas americanas - Great american cultures

Smithville MS Tornado April 27, 2011

I am a deputy for a neighboring county and we responded to the call for assistance to Smithville, MS. This is only about half of the area of devastation and the short footage and pictures I took still doesn't do it justice. God bless the citizens of Smithville and please pray for them in their recovery.

"Gobissa" by Markus James

The track Gobissa comes from the album and critically acclaimed film Timbuktoubab. Enlisting the brilliant support of Hassi Sare (njarka violin, vocals), Solo Sidibe (kamele n'goni, vocals), and Hamma Sankare (calabash, vocals), James creates a beautiful music video about the contrast of life in the dessert and life speeding up in the modern world and how life could be over at anytime. The music video was filmed in the sand dunes and villages in and around Timbuktu, Mali. "..haunting music that conjures the very soul of the Sahara... James evokes the spirit of the blues in these tracks, connecting with a vibe that's as ancient as Timbuktu itself. Every song is a piece of magic that will work its own spell". -BILLBOARD MAGAZINE "few cross-cultural musical collaborations have been as pleasing and fruitful as Markus James's Timbuktoubab project....their music is a language that they speak fluently, a language whose grammar has been developing for centuries along the sandy banks of the Niger River and in the delta of the Mississippi River." -- Marco Werman, Music Editor, PRI/BBC's The World

The Help - Movie Review

The Help starring Emma Stone and Viola Davis is reviewed by Christy Lemire (AP critic and host of Ebert Presents at the Movies, check your local PBS listings), Alonso Duralde (TheWrap.com and Linoleum Knife podcast) and Grae Drake (Movies.com). See what other critics are saying: www.rottentomatoes.com Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends' lives -- and a Mississippi town -- upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter's best friend's housekeeper, is the first to open up -- to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter's life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories -- and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly -- and unwillingly -- caught up in the changing times.
